The MetroFibre Team 30 Jun 2025 Share on ![Plans & Pricing](https://blog.metrofibre.co.za/hubfs/Fibre%20Plans%20%26%20Pricing-1.png) Share on Reading Time: 2 minutes    ##### **What’s the Difference Between Uncapped and Capped Fibre Internet?** Not all fibre packages are created equal, and understanding the difference between capped and uncapped is key to making the right choice for your home or business.  Here’s what each one means, and why uncapped fibre is the better option for how we live and work today.   ### Capped Fibre: Limits That Interrupt Your Life  With a capped fibre package, you get a fixed amount of data to use each month - for example, 100GB or 250GB. Every time you stream, download, game, or scroll, it counts toward that cap.  Once you reach your limit, your internet can slow down dramatically or stop altogether unless you buy extra data. That means interruptions, extra charges, and the hassle of managing your usage. It’s restrictive, outdated, and not designed for always-online homes or businesses.  ### Uncapped Fibre: Unlimited Data, Full Freedom  Uncapped packages give you as much data as you want, whenever you want. No tracking gigabytes. No top-ups. No nasty mid-month surprises.  Whether you're watching Netflix in HD, working from home, hosting video calls, or living in a smart home with multiple devices online all day - uncapped fibre keeps up without missing a beat.  With us, it’s not just uncapped - it’s also:   ✔ Unshaped (no slowing down certain types of traffic)   ✔ Unthrottled (no speed drops after “too much” use)   ✔ Unlimited in every sense of the word  ### Why Uncapped is the Smarter Choice Let’s be honest - capped packages might look cheaper upfront, but they’re built around limits. Limits that most modern households will hit quickly, especially with multiple devices and non-stop online activity.  Uncapped fibre gives you peace of mind. One simple price. One powerful connection. No fine print.  ###### MetroFibre Tip: If you’re comparing ISPs, check the small print on “uncapped” offers. Some providers still throttle your speed or restrict heavy usage. With us, uncapped means full speed, all the time.  Still on a capped package? It might be time for a change.  Fibre is meant to be fast, flexible, and frustration-free. And that’s exactly what uncapped gives you. With our uncapped plans, you can browse, stream, game, and work - with nothing holding you back.  ##### Share this post ##### Residential ### Stay in touch with us We hate spam, just as much as you do.
