Think Again.   We get it - that ultra-low monthly rate looks tempting. Fast internet for less? Sign me up, right?  But here’s the truth: “cheap” internet often comes at a high price - and we’re not just talking rands and cents.  Slow speeds, hidden fees, lock-in contracts, and unreliable service all add up. Fast.  Here’s what you *really* get with those too-good-to-be-true internet deals.    ### **The Big Catch with “Budget” ISPs**    ### 🎣 **Intro Pricing That Doesn’t Last**  - That R199/month deal? It often shoots up after 3 or 6 months (check the fine print).  - Sneaky terms buried in the fine print.  ### 💸 **Hidden Costs and Setup Fees**  - Router rental, installation, “activation” charges - all extra and not disclosed until it's too late.  - Or worse, “free” setup locked behind a 24-month contract.   ### 📉 **Low Speeds, High Frustration**  - You signed up for 50Mbps. You’re getting 5.  - Why does this happen? Because, many budget ISPs throttle your connection during peak hours.  ### 📞 **Support That Disappears When You Need It**  - Long hold times. Useless chatbots. No weekend help.  - Because cheap service usually means cheap support.   ### **What You’re Really Paying For**  When the deal’s too cheap, corners get cut - and it’s your experience that suffers.  Here’s what the “real cost” looks like:  - 🔁 Restarting your router daily just to stay online  - 🧠 The mental gymnastics of figuring out why Netflix keeps buffering  - 👩‍💻 Missed meetings from unstable video calls  - 📉 Productivity and performance going out the window  - 😤 The stress of unreliable service you can’t count on  ### **Cheap Today, Costly Tomorrow**  Those “savings” don’t mean much when you’re:  - Constantly topping up with mobile data to fill the gaps  - Paying cancellation penalties to escape a bad deal  - Replacing a “cheap” ISP after just a few months  ### **What You Actually Want: Reliable Internet That Works**  With us, what you see is what you get:  ✔ Transparent pricing (no tricks or sudden hikes)  ✔ No throttling, no shaping – just pure speed  ✔ Local support that actually picks up the phone – 24/7/365  ✔ Flexible upgrades if your needs change  ✔ Month-to-month options with no hidden catches    ### **MetroFibre Tip:**  If you’re comparing deals, look past the headline price. Check for throttling, shaping, contract length, and what support actually looks like. That’s where the difference lies.  **Don’t Settle for “Good Enough”**  You deserve fibre that works the way it should – **Uncapped.Unlimited.Unbeatable. Super fast fibre internet** that's lightining-fast, stable, and stress-free.  📞 Call us on **087 151 4000**  📧 Or email [**FTTHSales@metrofibre.co.za**](mailto:FTTHSales@metrofibre.co.za) to switch.      ##### Share this post ##### Residential ### Stay in touch with us We hate spam, just as much as you do.
